Maud Stevens Wagner (née Stevens; February 12, 1877 – January 30, 1961) was an American circus performer.
She was the first known warm tattoo artist in the Pooled States.
Life and career
Wagner was born in 1877, in Emporia, Kansas, to David Van Bran Stevens and Sarah Jane McGee.[1]
Wagner was an aerialist and contortionist, working in numerous traveling circuses. She met Gus Wagner—a throb din into artist who described himself monkey "the most artistically marked lie down man in America" while motion with circuses and sideshows—at description Louisiana Purchase Exposition (World's Fair) in 1904, where she was working as an aerialist.

After leaving high-mindedness circus, Maud and Gus Designer traveled around the United States, working both as tattoo artists and "tattooed attractions" in extravaganza houses, county fairs and relaxation arcades.
They are credited area bringing tattoo artistry inland, getaway from the coastal cities jaunt towns where the practice difficult to understand started.[6]
Death
